Finding the Missile Base

GPS doesn't always route correctly. Use The Goodnight Steakhouse (517 US 180, Albany, TX 76430) as a waypoint, then take US HWY 283 south of town approx. 0.8 miles and turn left at the CIS logo sign (gate will be open). If you pass the Albany Water Plant on the left, you've gone too far.

FAQ

What if I don't have a hunting license yet?

Purchase your Texas hunting license (with HIP certification and Migratory Bird Endorsement) online at tpwd.texas.gov — they go on sale August 15. You can complete your RSVP first and upload the license later.

Do I need to bring a shotgun?

Bring your own shotgun. Extra shells are provided if you run out.

Do I need Hunter Education?

Per TPWD, hunters born on or after September 2, 1971 must complete Hunter Education. Texas allows a one-year, one-time deferral. See tpwd.texas.gov/education/hunter-education.

Can I bring a coworker or friend?

Yes — note them on your RSVP and tell us who invited you ("Guest of") so we can group lodging accordingly.

What if I need to cancel last-minute?

As a courtesy, please email cisoutdoors@cis-ais.com or call any of us at CIS so we can adjust lodging and hunt-group assignments.

Where can I grab something I forgot?

Stop by Blanton-Caldwell on Main Street in downtown Albany (blanton-caldwell.com) for anything you may need. Big Country Outfitters / Buck Stop is also a great spot for any last-second hunting gear or supplies.
